Mason House Inn

2 and 3 August 2014

      Saturday, 2 August 2014

(Chuck and I both had neck surgery just two weeks before this class and we were both wearing neck braces.  Mine was a scheduled surgery due to ruptured disks in my back.  Chuck fell and broke his neck on 18 July, so his surgery was not planned.  We were in the same hospital at the same time.  Many of these questions are about what happened to Chuck.)

Chris: "Ty, you ready?"................  Ty: 'Hey, what's up.'     Girl's voice: 'Hey!'    Harold: 'How you feeling?'

Chuck: "Good, thanks." ................ 'You should be sitting in a chair.'

"I am sitting in a chair, well, on the chest.  But I'm sitting." ................ 'Okay'

"My first question is, was anybody in the bedroom with me when the accident occurred?" ............ 'Yes, at that time.'

"Can you tell me what happened to me after I passed out from coughing?" ................. 'Moved you around.'

"What did I hit to cause my neck to break?" ............... 'You hit it hard.'

"What did I hit hard?  Was it the end of the bed?" ............... 'No. The wall.'

"I hit the wall hard?" ..................... 'Yes sir.'   Amanda: 'Poor Chuck.'

"Was I facing the wall when I hit it?" ................. 'Yes.  We had to switch you around.'

"So I was not facing the end of the bed when I hit?" ............... 'No sir.'     ' We caught you.'

"Okay, so who caught me on the way down?" ................. Various voices:  'Harold, Amanda.'   'It happened by chance.'  'The Colonel was there.'   'I was.'  'Held your head.'

"Colonel, what's your last name?" .................. 'Made Amanda cry.'

"Harold, can you tell us the name of the Colonel who helped?" ................... 'You were lucky.'

"Is the Colonel a resident of the Inn?" ..................'The whole crew helped you.'    'You're the Colonel.'

"Oh, I'm the Colonel, okay.  So were you holding my head so I didn't do more damage?" ............... 'Yes.  We like your bandage now.'

"Yes, Joy and I have matching neck braces." .................... 'Yes'   'Party tonight.'

"Harold, why doesn't Joy hear you in her head anymore?" .................. 'We're giving you a rest.'

"It's okay for her to hear you.  She feels broken." .................. 'But not in bed.'

"Okay, she says it's okay to talk to her except for when she's in bed because you are driving her crazy with the doorbell after she's in bed." ........ 'Okay, good.'

Guest: "Did you enjoy the children this week?  There were seven children here for a week." ................... 'Yes, some of them.'  (Seven of our grandchildren were here for three weeks.)

"Did any of them see you?" ..................... 'Don't know.'    'Amanda'

"Which of the children saw Amanda?   Did you appear to them?" ..................... 'Tried'   'Rora'  'Talk to her all the time.'

"Is she responding to you?" ................. 'Sometimes'

Guest: "I want to know if any guests here brought someone with them?" ................... 'Came from home.'

"Do they have names?" ....................... 'I'll call you back.'

Guest: "Does anybody know anything about the sink holes that are happening lately?" ................. 'Ask Bill'

"Bill who?  Who's Bill?" ................... 'He knows.  Ask him.'

Guest: "Are any of the children staying this week bothering any of you?" ................ 'The boys are a little rough.'   'Party in Room 4.'

"What about the rest of the building?" ................. 'Right here.'

"Is the energy high right now?" ................. 'Low'

"Why is it low?" ......................... 'Children left.'   'Party'   'That's not all.'

Guest: "Is there anybody I know out there?" .................... 'Which one.'   'Get a grip.'  'Do you need identification?'

"Yes." .................. 'Smiles'

Paulette: "Who came to me to ask for help for Chuck?" ................... 'It was the kids.'

"I heard, 'Help Chuck'." ..................... 'It was the kids.'

Chuck: "So you guys knew it was going to happen?" ...................... 'Yes'

Joy: "What about the light bulbs that have been blowing out lately?" ................... 'They blew out.'

Chuck: "Were you using their energy for your energy?" ................. 'Yes'

Joy: "Was it a clue?  Like 'he's going to knock his lights out'?" ............... 'No.  Coincidence.'   'He hit his head.'

Guest: "What does Mary have to say about it?" .................... no answer

"Does Harold have anything to say?" .................... 'I'm fine.'

Guest: "Harold, do you know who moved our pillows in Room 7?" ..................... 'Yes.  It was the cat.'

Chuck:" I don't think Josephine could stack them up in a pyramid." .................... 'You got me.'

Guest: "Do you know what happened to my red, white, and blue earplugs that went missing from Room 4?" ............... 'The kids took them.'  'Don't tell!'   'They're fancy.'    'Ted Burcham'

"Who is Ted Burcham?" .................... 'I'm dead.'

"Are you a resident here?" ................ 'No. Visiting.  It's cool here.'   'Yeah, that's about right.'

Guest: "What do you think of Kingsley?" (My daughter's dog.)  "Do you like the puppy?" ........................ 'Some'   'He doesn't bark enough.'

Chuck: "Did you see the chickens out back?" ......................... 'Yeah'   'Slay them.'

"Do you agree that Joy spoils them too much?" ................ 'She does now.'

Guest: "What do you want to tell us today?" ...................... 'New friends.'

Chuck: "Harold, when I was flying from the Keosauqua hospital up to Iowa City, they put me in a helicopter.  Did you fly with me?" ......... 'I was with you.'

"What did you think of that?" ................ 'Fun'

"Were you the only one who flew up there with me?" .................... 'No.  Seven.  Violent injury.  We were all with you.  We were afraid for you.  Held your neck.'

"Were you afraid to let go?" .................. 'Yes.'

"So seven of you held my neck while we flew up there?" ............... 'It wasn't easy.'

"Did you know what was going to happen ahead of time?" ............... 'Correct.'

"But you had to let it happen?" ................... 'Correct.  We pushed you a certain way.  We had to let it happen.  But we changed the way you landed.'

"So I did not get hurt any further." ................... 'Apparently not.'

"Did you know what the outcome was going to be?" ..................... 'Didn't like it.  Couldn't stop it.'

"But did you know I would be able to get back on my feet again?" ........... 'Yes.  We were working.  Held your head.'  'Hurt bad.'  'Knew it was coming.'

"Thanks for the miracle of being alive." ................ 'Sure.'

"Harold just didn't want to face me on that side." ....................... 'That's correct.'

Guest: "Did President Lincoln visit Chuck at the hospital?" ............... 'He was helping.'

Chuck: "Was he part of the seven who were holding my body?" .............. 'That's the rumor.'

"Whose rumor?" .............. 'He's letting you know it was him.'    Lincoln: 'That's forty dollars.'

"I will gladly pay that.  How do you want it?" ..................... 'Fives!'   Harold: 'He was the one who was driving.'

"Driving the helicopter?" ............... Harold: 'No, he was driving the rescue mission.  Holding your head.'   (To Lincoln) 'Thank you for that.'   Lincoln: 'My pleasure.  Needed to be done.'

"President Lincoln, did you know know it was going to happen ahead of time so you could be here to help?" ................ Lincoln: 'Knew it would be fine.  Had to control the moving parts.'

Chris: "This was a big project.  Did everyone know what was going to happen?" ................ 'Could not stop it.'

Chuck: "Words can't thank you enough you guys.  I don't know why you did that." ................ 'It was a blessing.'

"Does this mean I have something I need to be doing? A new mission?" .................... Woman: 'A new look at life.'

"Thank you, everybody, words can't thank you enough." ................ 'Our pleasure.'

Guest: "Are there any children in the room with us right now?" ................ 'Amanda's here.'

"Hi, Amanda." ............... 'Hi'

"Is Johnny behaving?" ............... 'No.'

"Who keeps running in the hallway behind Room 3?" .................... 'Hi!'   'All of them.'  'Children play.'  'Can't get across.'

Guest: "Who was it that pushed Becky in Room 5 two weekends ago?" .................... 'Didn't fall. Bart.'     Bart: 'Sorry.'

"Who turned the flashlight on downstairs?" ................. no answer

"Harold, did you have any problem with any of the spirits who came with us?" ................. 'Someone left.'

Cindi: "Did anyone attach themselves to me after I went to Meeks Mill?" ................... 'Sam'

Chris: "Okay, we're going to go now.  Thanks everybody." ................. 'Bye'

              Sunday, 3 August 2014

Chris: "Ty?  Everything good?" .................. 'Go'

Chuck: "Can we talk about what happened to me?" ................. 'We can talk.'

"The point where my neck broke, was it when I hit the wall or when I hit the ground?" ............... 'Yes. Wall.'

"You knew this was going to happen, correct?" ................ 'To the innkeeper.  Yes.'

"Were you interfering when you caught me and put me on the ground?" ................ 'No'

"Did you have the blessing from Heaven to interfere with the outcome?" .............. 'Yes.  No sin.'

"Do you interfere with alot of outcomes?" ............... 'No'

"So was this a decision made by President Lincoln and the other spirits here in the Inn to interfere with the outcome?" ............. 'Yes.  Exactly.'

"So you knew the outcome was not going to be good and you solved it to make it come out okay?" ............... 'Yes'

"Does this mean you saved me because I have another mission to do?" ............... 'Yes. Very soon.'

"Thank you for giving me a second chance." ............... 'Take advantage of it now.'

"Do I have a short time left?  I'm not going to do this again, am I?" ................... 'Please don't.'

"Once is enough." ................. 'Exactly'

"Will Joy and I manage to get through the fall and winter with us not being able to do much now?" ................... 'It will be okay.'    'You have friends here.'

"Is anybody willing to help with housework?" ................ 'No.'   'Not me.'

"How about mowing?" ...............Various voices:  'Yeah.'   'Sounds like fun.'   'Talk to the walls.'   'Did you buy cheese?'

Guest: "Yes!  We did buy cheese today." .................. 'Yum'

Chuck: "Harold, when I passed out and landed on the floor, are you able to estimate how long I was passed out?  Was it seconds or minutes?" ..........'Eleven minutes.'

"I was out eleven minutes?" ................. 'We knew it was all the time you had.  You were hurt.'

"That gives me an idea I was down there for a while." .............. 'You hit hard. '

"Did I hit the floor hard too?" ............... 'Yes. There was a big impact.'

"So did the floor do any damage or was it the wall that did the damage?" ................ 'A little of both.'

Guest: "Is President Lincoln here today?" ................. 'No, not today.'

Cindi: "I have a question about the jail in the basement of the Meeks Mill building.  Does anybody know what year the jail was put in the basement of the Meeks Woolen mill? ............... '98.'

"1898?" .............. 'Yes.'

"Did anybody ever die in the jail?" ................. 'Three did, yes.  Three couldn't get out.'

"Was this during the 1903 flood?" ................ 'Yes.  Flood.  Couldn't get out of it.'

"Is one of them named Sam?" ................... 'Sam, yes, in the jail.'

"Are they still in the jail?" ................... 'Yes'

"Are they stuck there? ............... 'Yes'

"So they haven't gone to the light?" .................... 'That's true.'

"Are they ready to go to the light?" ..................... 'They're in jail.'

"Are they aware that they've passed?" .................. 'They plead.'   'Roy'

"Roy was in the jail too?" ..................... 'Yes'

"Did they see me when I passed by?" ............... 'Saw you, yes.'   'The accountant put them there.'

Chris: "Ty, will they accept our help?  Can you talk to them and see?" .................. 'You can try.'

Guest: "Who said 'You'll just have to come back' , last night?" .................. Various voices:  'A man.'   'Look over your shoulder.'   'Didn't want to get involved.'    'You have a friend.'

"What's the name of the friend?" ............... 'Josh'

"Is Josh a resident here?" ............... 'Passing through.'

"How old was Josh when he passed?" ............... '24'

"So was somebody telling Josh he would have to come back and see?" .................... Woman: 'He was charming.'

Jinni: "Amanda, do you know I have a job at Riverbend now?" .............. Amanda: 'I do.'

"Did you go to Camp Courageous with me?" .............. 'Yes.  It was fun.'

Joy: "Somebody kept saying "Poor Chuck, poor Chuck." and somebody else said "What happened?  I didn't see it."  and then more "Poor Chuck!"   Who was that? .................. 'Me'  'Amanda'

Guest: "Is it going to flood this year?" ................. 'Lots!'    'Just kidding.'    'Bart!'

Chuck: "Hey, Bart, can you say hello to us?" ..................... 'Food'  'Good to be back with the family.'

"Were you gone for while?" ................ 'For a little bit.   Back now.'    'Wash house.'

Paulette: "That's my room.  I brought the flannel nightgown, so nothing's happening." ................. 'Gosh darn.'

"Bart, are you not here all the time anymore?" ............... 'I spend alot of time in the wash house.  You need to put in some gin.'

Chris: "I didn't see you as a gin drinker." ................... 'Works for me.'

"I thought you like beer. " .................. 'Five quarts.'

"Where are you going to put it?" .................... 'In my stomach.'

Guest: "What's this winter going to be this year.  Harsh or mild?" ................ Various voices: 'Just wait.'  'It's going to be a good one.'   'Bad one.'    Bart: 'I'm thirsty.'

(We kept hearing a police siren coming from the Box.)

"What's with the siren we keep hearing?" ................. 'On alert.'

"Is it because something is interfering?" .............. 'Yes.  Earthbounds.'

"Are they trying to interfere?" .................. 'Need a cop.'

Guest: "I'm a police officer." ................... Bart: 'I'm leaving.   Whiskey's fine.'

Chuck: "We have some German beer here.  Does that work?" ................. 'Works for me.'    Woman: 'New chapter in your life.'   'Sleep tight.'

"You guys are being cryptic." ................. Bart: 'I don't want to be charged.'

"What do you think you are being charged with?" .................. 'Drunk'

"Don't worry, you are out of his jurisdiction." ..................... 'Good'

"If we put beers in Room 1, would you drink them?" ................. 'Bottles'

"The German beer is in bottles." ................ 'Wooo'

Chris: "That's it for now.  Thanks everybody.  You've been great." ................'Bye'
